Third General Assembly
31 May 2022
The General Assembly took place on May 31, 2022, at the Swiss Institute for Translational Medicine (sitem-insel) in Bern. The most important decision was the confirmation to pursue the strategic path proposed by the Board.
The General Assembly accepted the president’s report on 2021 activities and achievements, approved the financial report and the financial statement 2021, and granted discharge to the Executive Board (EB). Budget for 2022 was approved.
With regret, the General Assembly thanked the commitment of Jean-Claude Piffaretti, who served as President but also as Secretary, and Marc Creus, who was very active on the Executive Board, especially in communications; both resigned for personal reasons. Andreas Widmer was elected as new member of the Executive Board.
In order to pursue the Round Table on Antibiotics’ mission actively, the General Assembly acknowledged and accepted Barbara Polek’s offer to assume the role as interim Managing Director until the completion of an official recruitment process.
The Annual Meeting ended with a keynote speach by Andreas Faller on "Research and development of new antibiotics: Switzerland's role in security of supply".
